Day 1: Pick up, Kigali city tours then transfer to Ruhengeri- Volcanos National Park.

Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Pick up, Kigali city tours then transfer to Ruhengeri- Volcanoes National Park.
Upon your arrival, on the 1st day of the 5 days Volcanoes and Bwindi gorilla trekking safari, your safari guide from African Vacation Safaris will pick you either from your hotel in Kigali or from Kigali International Airport and then welcome you then brief you about the safari. After briefing you will be transferred to Kigali city for the Kigali city tour to where you will explore the famous attractions like visiting genocide memorial site, Kimironko market and among others while interacting with the people around. After the Kigali city tour you will go for lunch, and after lunch you will start on your journey to Ruhengeri that is the closet place to Volcanoes National Park that is situated in the northern province of Rwanda then you will arrive in the evening. And upon your arrival you will be served with dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 2: Mountain gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park.
On the 2nd day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and then enjoy your hearty breakfast with your packed lunch. You will meet with your safari guide and then transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing about the rules, regulations to follow during gorilla trekking. After the briefing you will be grouped in various groups of 8 members per group and each group assigned with skilled park rangers and park guides and then enter the forest to search for the mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking in the park takes a period of about 2 hours to 6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas, along the way you will be thrilled with spotting of the various animal species, bird species, plant species and tree species among many others. And once the gorillas are located you will spend one hour in the presence of the gorillas in their natural habitats while watching them doing their daily activities like watching them hunting, breastfeeding, grooming, playing, taking pictures and recording videos and among many others.
After the one hour you will trek back to the starting point to be awarded with gorilla trekking certificate for taking part in gorilla trekking, and later you will have optional activities that is either visiting Dian Fossey Center or carrying out community tour around Ruhengeri for a Rwanda cultural experience. After you will be transferred to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park through Kisoro.
Enjoy breakfast in the early morning on the 3rd day of the safari. You will then check out from your lodge and then meet your safari guide and then get ready to transfer to the southwestern part of Uganda. Along the way you will have the enroute lunch. After lunch you will proceed with your journey and then enter Uganda through Cyanika border then you arrive Kisoro in the late afternoon and to where you will proceed to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. And once you arrive you will check in your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 4: Mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park.
On the 4th day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and then enjoy your blissful breakfast. After breakfast you will meet your safari guide and then transfer to the park headquarters with your packed lunch for a briefing about the rules, regulations to follow during gorilla trekking in the forest. After the briefing you will be put in different groups of 8 members per group and each group led by the professional guides and rangers that are familiar with the park trails. Gorilla trekking in the park takes a period of about 30 minutes to 6 hours regarding to the location of the gorillas. Along the way you will be thrilled with sighting of colourful attractions in the forest that will make the experience rewarding. And once the gorillas are located you will be given one hour in the presence of the gorillas that is watching them feeding, playing, grooming, mating, making nests for their next night, taking their pictures, recording their movies and among others. After one hour you will trek back to the starting point to where you will be rewarded with the gorilla trekking certificates for taking part in gorilla trekking. After you will optional engage yourself with other activities like guided nature walks around, visiting Batwa communities and among others. After the experience you will return back to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 5: Visiting Lake Bunyonyi and transfer to Kigali.
On the final day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and then enjoy your breakfast. After breakfast you will check out from your lodge and then meet your safari and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for the massive canoeing tour around the deepest lake that offers you spotting of beautiful bird species, wonderful landscape and among many others, after the experience you will be transferred for lunch.
After lunch you will proceed with your journey to Kigali. And once you arrive your safari driver will drop you at your convenient place either at Kigali international airport to catch a flight back home or to your hotel in Kigali that will make your safari come to the end.
