Tour Highlights.
Day 1: Pick up, Kigali city tour then transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
Day 2: First gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park and Iby’wacu cultural tour.

Day 4: Transfer to Kigali.

Day 1: Pick up, Kigali city tour then transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
On the 1st day of the safari, regarding on your location your safari guide from African Vacation Safaris will pick you and then welcome you from either your hotel in Kigali or from Kigali International Airport and then brief you about 4 days gorilla trekking Rwanda safari. After the briefing you will be transferred to Kigali city tour including visiting Rwanda genocide memorial center, visiting the art centers, Kimironko market and among many others. After the city tour will be transferred for lunch in one of the restaurants in Kigali. After lunch you will start on your journey to Volcanoes National Park with the wonderful views of the beautiful landscapes, rolling hills, traditional homesteads and among many others. Upon your arrival you will check in your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 2: First gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park and Iby’wacu cultural tour.
On the 2nd day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and then take a blissful breakfast, after breakfast you will carry your packed lunch and then meet with your driver guide and then transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing about the rules and regulations to follow during gorilla trekking. After briefing you will be grouped in various groups of about 8 members per group an each group accompanied with skilled park guide and then park ranger that are familiar with the park trails. You will start trekking in the jungle and search for the gorillas and the activity takes about 2 to 5 hours regarding to the location of the gorillas. During the trekking you will be impressed with sighting of various bird species, primates, and among many others.
And once the gorillas are located, you will be given a period of one hour to be in the presence of their natural habitat while observing them doing their daily activities like watching them mating, playing, feeding, mothers grooming their young ones, taking them pictures and recording their videos and among others. After one hour you will trek back to the starting point and then be awarded with the gorilla trekking certificates for participating in gorilla trekking.
Later your safari driver will transfer you to the Iby’wacu cultural tour to where you will be able to interact with the local people then learn about their culture, enjoy their traditional entertainment, and among others. After the experience you will return to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 3: Second gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park and visit Dian Fossey centre at Karisoke.
On the 3rd day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and then enjoy your breakfast. After breakfast you will carry packed lunch and then meet with your driver guide for the gorilla trekking briefing at Kinigi Headquarters at 7am. After the briefing you will be grouped in various groups like done on the first day of gorilla trekking. Then you will be allocated to a gorilla family and then start trekking in the forest that takes you about 2 to 5 hours depending on the where the gorillas are located. And once mountain gorillas are located, you will be awarded with one hour to be in the presence of gorillas in their environment while maintaining a distance of about 6 meters distance to where you will observe the gorillas doing their daily activities like watching them doing their daily activities, watching them playing, watching them feeding, taking their pictures, recording their videos to show people back home after the safari and among many others. After one hour you will transfer back to the starting point and then your driver guide will transfer to Dian Fossey Fund at Karisoke centre to where you will take a tour at the museum and then learn about her work regarding to the gorilla conservation. After the experience you will be transferred to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 4: Transfer to Kigali.
On the last day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and then enjoy your hearty breakfast. After breakfast you will check out from your lodge and then meet your safari guide and then transfer to Kigali with the attractive views along the way. And upon your arrival you will be transferred to your convenient place that is either at your hotel in Kigali or to Kigali International Airport to catch your flight back home that will make your safari come to the end.
