Day 1: Transfer to Murchison falls national park through Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for birding.
Depending on your location; on the 1st day of the 4 days Murchison falls birding tour, your tour guide from African Vacation Safaris will pick you from the hotel in Kampala or from Entebbe International Airport, and he will welcome you and brief you about the safari. After the briefing you will begin your journey to Murchison falls national park. Along the way you will have stopovers along the way to stretch abit. You will later continue with your journey and make another stopover and enjoy your en-route lunch with fascinating views in Masindi, and after lunch you will head to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. This is where you will do an exciting rhino tracking experience and get the chance to spot the numerous rhinos while grazing close to you.
Along carrying out rhino tracking you will as well be impressed with the massive birding watching experience to spot the numerous bird species like African open bill stork, African pygmy kingfisher, African green pigeons, Greater blue and Lesser blue eared starlings, White-created Helment-shrike, and among many others. After birdwatching you will proceed to Murchison falls national park and then make another stopover at the Royal Mile for a more birding experience to where you will spot incredible bird species like Ituri Batis, Rufous-Crowned Eremomela, Dwarf kingfisher, Lemon bellied Crombec, Nahans partige, White-thigned Hornbill, Sabine’s Spinetail and among many others. Later you will drive to the park and upon arrival you will be transferred to your lodge in the park then check in for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning game drive and Afternoon boat cruise on the Nile River.

On the 2nd day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast, after breakfast you will meet with your safari guide and then transfer to the park for the amazing experience to spot the park’s great animal species that includes, lions, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, warthogs, cheetahs, elephants, and among many others. The game drive takes about 3 hours to 4 hours, as well you will spot various bird species during the game drive like African jacana, African fish eagle, Malachite kingfisher, Palm-nut vulture, Osprey, Black coucal, Black-headed lapwing, African darter, Eastern grey plantain-eater and among others. After the game drive you will be transferred to the lodge for lunch.
Boat cruise.
After lunch, you will meet your safari guide and then transfer for the afternoon boat cruise, this is amazing cruising while spotting the top water of the Murchison falls that takes you about 3 hours, while spotting the diverse numbers of hippopotamuses yawning, variety of elephants, buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, on the banks of the Murchison falls, and viewing diverse numbers of the bird species along the river banks like the famous Shoebill storks, African fish eagles, herons, Abyssinian ground, African darter, secretary bird, African fish eagle, Giant Kingfisher, African black crake, dwarf kingfisher, great blue turaco, African black crake, blue spotted doves, Squacco heron, saddle billed stork, African jacana, malachite kingfisher, African skimmer and among many others. After the boat cruise you will be returned to the lodge for your relaxing, dinner and overnight stay as above.
Day 3: Guided nature walks/Chimpanzee trekking.
On the 3rd day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and then meet your safari guide and then transfer to the park for the guided nature walks that offers you the basic birding safari experience while on foot while exploring different areas like Budongo forest, top of the falls, along the Nile, Kaniyo Pabidi, Rubongo forest and among many others. During the guided nature walks you will explore and watch various bird species like African pied wagtail, Western Greenbul, Guinea Congo, Chocolate backed Kingfisher, Pygmy Crake, yellow browned carmaroptera, speckled tinker bird, forest robin, Ituri Batis, white casqued hornbill, yellow footed flycatcher, Cassin’s hawk eagle, Fork tailed Drongo, blue napped mouse bird, black kite, yellow crested woodpecker and among many others. After the experience you will be returned to your lodge for lunch.
Alternatively, your safari guide and transfer to Budongo forest for the chimpanzee trekking safari experience in Budongo forest. This is where you will be transferred to the headquarters for the briefing about the rules, regulations to consider during chimpanzee trekking at the offices of Uganda Wildlife Authority. After the briefing you will be transferred to the forest while accompanied with the skilled and then experienced park rangers and park guides in the different groups. Chimpanzee trekking in Budongo forest takes a period of about 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on the location of the chimpanzees because these creatures like moving in various parts of the forest looking for food, shelter and others. Along the way looking for the chimpanzees you will have the smooth birding walk in the forest for the perfect bird watching experience; this is where you will spot various bird species including Nahans francolin, Yellow billed barbet, Puvels illadopsis, blue throated roller, African broad bills, and among many others being hosted by the oldest trees in this wonderful habitat concentrated with figs and mahogany trees and among others. And once you spot the chimpanzees you will be given a period of one hour to be in the presence of chimpanzees will watching the chimpanzees feeding, playing, taking pictures, and recording the memories to show people home after the safari. After one hour you will trek back to the starting point where you will find your driver guide waiting for you and then transfer you to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 4: Departure.
On the last day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and then enjoy your hearty breakfast. After breakfast you will check out from your lodge and then meet your safari guide then start on your journey, as you exist the park you will have enroute morning game drive to spot the early risers in the park like elephants, lions, buffaloes, leopards, waterbucks, bushbucks, warthogs and among many others, minus forgetting spotting the various number of bird species like Fulvous whistling, African fish eagle, white thighed horn bill, Ituri batis, White-crested turaco, Silver bird, Squacco heron, Piapiac, Palm-nut vulture, White-browned sparrow-weaver and among many others. Later you will continue with your journey and along the way to Kampala either in Luweero or Masindi you have a stopover for lunch, after lunch you will proceed with your journey until you arrive Kampala, and upon your arrival your safari driver will drop you at your convenient location either at Entebbe International Airport for the flight back home or dropped to your hotel in Kampala.
