Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park.
Depending on your available location on the 1st day of the private 4 days gorilla trekking tour and Lake Bunyonyi safari, you will be welcomed by your driver guide from African Vacation Safaris who will welcome you and then brief you about the safari and then start your journey to Bwindi impenetrable Park, with the stunning views around. Along the way you will make a stopover at the equator in Kayabwe where you will buy souvenirs and then take some pictures and other. From the equator you will proceed with a second stopover for en-route lunch. After lunch you will continue with your journey to the park with spectacular views on the way. And once you arrive you will check in your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park.
After an early breakfast on the 2nd day of the safari, you will carry packed lunch from the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing you will start trekking in the jungle in search of the mountain gorillas which takes about 2 to 6 hours depending on where the gorillas are located because they like to move from one place to another in search of food. During trekking you will be able to view other primate species, different plant species, and birds among others. Once the mountain gorillas are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to observe their habits, behaviors, watch gorillas feed, take photos and record the breathtaking moments to show people back home after the safari.
After the one-hour encounter with the gentle giants you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will be rewarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and then meet up with your driver guide to go for an Optional Batwa cultural tour where you will be able to interact with the Batwa, learn about their culture, tradition, way of living, visit their homesteads, listen to their ancient stories, enjoy their traditional performances among others. After the cultural tour, you will return back to the lodge for dinner and overnight as above.
Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for boat ride experience.
On the 3rd day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and then enjoy your blissful breakfast. After breakfast, you will meet your Uganda safari guide and then transfer to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale that only takes you 2 hours’ drive with the amazing views along the way.
And once you arrive, you will go for the wonderful boat ride that offers you the stunning views of the beautiful landscapes as you are exploring the 29 islands while spotting beautiful and colourful bird species, viewing the terraced farmland and among others. After the boat ride, you will drive to your lodge for lunch. After lunch you will relax at your lodge and then later will be served with dinner, then overnight stay.
Day 4: Departure to Kampala.
On the last day of the safari, you will get up early in the morning and then enjoy your hearty breakfast, after breakfast you will check out from your lodge and then meet up with your driver guide and then embark on your journey back to Kampala. Along the way you will have the enroute lunch in Mbarara, and after lunch you will proceed with your journey to Kampala.
And upon your arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe International Airport to catch a flight back home or dropped at your hotel in Kampala that will make your safari come to the end.
