5 days double gorilla trekking safari in Bwindi is a unique safari that starts and then ends in Uganda. The safari takes place in Bwindi impenetrable national park that is found in the southwestern part of Uganda. The park is the famous safari destination with the diverse numbers of the mountain gorillas that are located in the different park sectors that is Ruhija sector in east, Buhoma sector in the north, Rushaga sector in the south and Nkuringo sector in the south. The safari takes you explore the two of the four gorilla trekking sectors that gives you the chance of encountering the mountain gorillas in their natural habitats.

Day 1: Arrival.

Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival.
Depending on the arrival time at Entebbe International Airport on the 1st day of the 5 days double gorilla trekking safari in Bwindi, your safari driver from African Vacation Safaris will pick you up from the airport and then brief you about the safari, after the briefing you will transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe foe dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park.
On the 2nd day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and then enjoy your breakfast. After breakfast, your safari driver will pick you up from your hotel and then begin your journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park. During your journey on the way you will make your stopover at the equator in Kayabwe to take pictures, buy souvenirs and among others. From the equator you will continue with your journey and then make another stopover in Mbarara for the en-route lunch, after lunch you will continue with your journey with the spectacular views on the way until you reach Bwindi. Upon your arrival you will check in your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 3: First gorilla trekking in Buhoma sector and then transfer to Ruhija sector.
On the 3rd day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and then enjoy your breakfast, after breakfast then check out from your lodge with your packed lunch meet your driver guide and then transfer to the park headquarters for the gorilla trekking briefing. After briefing, you will be grouped in different groups and each group will be allocated with the skilled park guide and start gorilla trekking in the park and this takes about 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on the location of the gorillas. During the trekking you will be attracted with the sighting of various bird species, primate species, plant species and among others. And once the gorillas are located you will be given one hour to be in the presence of the gorillas in their natural habitat that gives you the chance to learn about their behaviours, watch them carrying out their activities like breast feeding, mating, grooming young ones, hunting, mating and among others, taking pictures and recording videos. After the one hour you will trek back to the starting and then be awarded with the gorilla trekking certificates for taking part in gorilla trekking.
Later your safari driver will drive you to Ruhija sector in the eastern part of Bwindi impenetrable forest national park, and upon your arrival you will check in your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 4: Second gorilla trekking in Ruhija sector.
On the 4th day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and then enjoy your breakfast. After breakfast grab your packed lunch and then meet your safari driver and then drive to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking. After the briefing you will be allocated a gorilla family to trek and then start trekking in the forest to look for the mountain gorillas that takes you about 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on where the gorillas are located, along the way you will be fascinated with the incredible spotting of the bird species, bird species, plant and tree and plant species and among many others.
And once the gorillas are seen you will be given one hour to be in the presence of the gorillas while watching the gorillas doing their daily activities, namely, feeding, mating, breastfeeding, female gorillas grooming their young ones, taking pictures and recording their videos. After the one hour you will trek back to the starting point to where you will be awarded with a gorilla trekking certificate for taking part in gorilla trekking and then later your driver guide will transfer you to lodge. Optional you can go for the Batwa cultural tour that is where you will interact with the Batwa people, learn about their culture, ways of living, enjoying their dances and songs and among others. After the experience you will return back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Departure.
On the last day of the safari, wake early in the morning and then enjoy your breakfast. After breakfast, you will check out from your lodge and then meet your safari driver and embark on your journey back to Kampala. Along the way you will enjoy your enroute lunch, and after lunch you will continue with your journey until Kampala with wonderful views. Once you arrive in Kampala your driver guide will drop you at Entebbe International Airport for your next flight back home or dropped at your hotel in Kampala that will make your safari come to the end.
